The Department of Anthropology at the University of Missouri seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in biological anthropology for the 2022-23 academic year who will contribute to the department’s focus on scientific approaches to studies of human biology, behavior, culture, and evolution. Candidates are expected to contribute to the department research culture by having an active research program and serving as mentors for student research.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the four-field Introduction to Anthropology course and Introduction to Biological Anthropology with Lab. Additional courses will include both lower- and upper-level/grad courses and will draw on the candidate’s area of expertise.

Appointment date: The position will begin in August 2022 and extend through the Spring 2023 semester. The teaching load will be 3 courses each semester.

Minimum Qualifications: A PhD in Anthropology or a related field is required at the time employment begins.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
