Creighton University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor to teach histology and gross anatomy. This 12-month Teaching-Research tenure-track position has a primary appointment within the highly collaborative Department of Medical Education-Omaha, NE Campus.

Applicants must have a PhD, or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited institution with an ability to teach postgraduate histology and cadaver-based human gross anatomy.

Candidates should possess a strong record of excellence in teaching and research. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience teaching university or graduate-level anatomy education.

A background in other anatomical science disciplines, such as neuroanatomy, embryology, or physiology is desirable but not required. Teaching responsibilities include participating in lectures, cadaveric dissection laboratory, student assessments, and exam administration. Additional expectations include active participation in collaborative research within their area of expertise and/or evidence of productivity in the scholarship of teaching and learning of anatomy education by dissemination of peer-reviewed publications and/or presentations. The position provides an opportunity to collaborate on curriculum development, develop educational resources, present continuing education programs, and mentor undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in scholarly activity.

Participation in departmental meetings, academic service committees, and professional societies to maintain levels of expertise is an expectation of all full-time faculty members. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, and exhibit the ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.

Qualifications: Ph.D., or equivalent terminal degree Experience teaching post-graduate health sciences human histology is required and cadaver-based gross human anatomy is preferred; Experience in active learning modalities is preferred, Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
