Full-time Lecturer in Anthropology: Biological and Cultural Anthropology with a Focus on Health

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Vermont (UVM) seeks a candidate for a non-tenure track, full-time lecturer position with a specialization in the Anthropology of Health. The position is for the Academic Year 2022- 23. Candidates should have the capacity to teach and engage students in the study of both biological and cultural anthropology at the undergraduate introductory, intermediate, and advanced level. The position is a full-time with a 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE), with a four course per semester load. Desired courses include Cultural Anthropology (2 course equivalents); Biological Anthropology (2 course equivalents); Culture Health and Healing; Anthropological Research in Global Health; Gender, Sex, Race and the Body; and a 100-level special topics course. This position will include in-person instruction but could also require hybrid or remote assignments. Applicants should have Ph.D. in hand or advanced ABD status at time of application. They should demonstrate evidence of excellence or promise in teaching and scholarship and an ability to engage with diverse students with a variety of pedagogical methods.
