We invite applications for a tenure eligible, full-time Assistant Professor faculty position in Histology and Anatomy Education. The individual will join a fun and collaborative team of anatomical scientists (including two PhDs in biological anthropology) who teach courses for students in a number of post-graduate degree programs. The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology is one of six basic science departments in the School of Medicine on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus located in Aurora, Colorado (a suburb of Denver). The primary missions of the Department are education, service, and research.

Primary responsibilities for this faculty position include teaching histology courses for students in the Master of Science Program in Modern Human Anatomy as well as School of Dental Medicine and School of Medicine MD Program. Teaching in other areas of interest (gross anatomy, embryology, neuroanatomy, or imaging and modeling) is also available. The faculty member is also expected to engage in research and scholarship, and to provide service to the Master of Science Program in Modern Human Anatomy, including academic advising, mentoring, and various committee work. The desired start date for this position is July 1, 2022

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Earned degree (Ph.D. or M.D./D.O. or equivalent) or degree in hand by start date Experience teaching Histology or a related field Experience in teaching other aspects of human anatomy, physiology, or a related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 2 or more years of experience in teaching Histology and Gross Anatomy Experience in teaching histology lab (virtual or traditional) Course directing experience Ultrasound, CT, MRI, 3D printing, 3D scanning, virtual modeling, animation, augmented or virtual reality, or app development. Experience or enthusiasm for academic advising and mentoring students Experience and knowledge of anatomical services (e.g, willed-body programs) Evidence of productive scholarship and/or research in the respective area of expertise General knowledge of the health professional schools (MD, DO, Dental, PT/PA, etc) admissions process.
