The Department of Anthropology at Binghamton University (SUNY) seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track instructor position in support of the graduate-level Biomedical Anthropology Program.

Position Requirements: Teach courses in biomedical anthropology at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including a large, lower-level undergraduate biomedical anthropology course and graduate level biomedical anthropology courses for the Master's of Science program. Possible graduate courses include, but are not limited to Anthropology and Global Health, Community-based Research Methods, Evolutionary Medicine, and Human Biological Variation. Teaching load is 3 courses per semester.

Requirements: Ph.D. in biological anthropology. Strong teaching record in biomedical anthropology, including teaching experience at the graduate level. Interests at the intersection of biological anthropology and public health are strongly preferred, particularly if those interests complement current departmental strengths.

Service activities associated with this position include organizing student internships, including the department's on-going collaborations with Health Departments and non-profit organizations in upstate New York and surrounding areas, particularly related to public health and medicine broadly. Experience working with Native American communities is a plus. The ideal candidate will recruit students to the department's graduate programs and will have skills in marketing, managing social media platforms (such as Facebook and Twitter), and website design.
