The Division of Mechanical Engineering and Design is hiring a new lecturer (assistant professor) in mechanical engineering. The start date is flexible, but would ideally start in Fall 2020.

The division is expanding, and has recently started a research group focused on anthroengineering. The main research topics in this group are: -Human evolutionary biomechanics -Biomechanical consequences of human biological variation -Culturally relevant, sustainable medical devices for low- and middle- income countries (LMICs).

As such, researchers in biological anthropology with strong backgrounds in biomechanics are encouraged to apply. Researchers must be able to teach aspects of mechanical engineering (e.g., statics, dynamics, solid mechanics, FEA) and/or deisng (e.g., ethnography in design ) courses.

Informal inquiries about the post or working in the division/at LSBU can be directed to Dr Michael Berthaume ([email protected]) or Dean Asa Barber ([email protected]).
