SUMMER WORKSHOP IN BIOARCHAEOLOGY, PALEOPATHOLOGY, PALEOEPIDEMIOLOGY
Week 1, EPHE (O.Dutour): The workshop is designed to provide students with the analytical tools needed for the interpretation of data collected on human skeletal remains in archaeological context, focusing on health conditions and dietary habits. Basics in identification of osseous and dental lesions aimed toward epidemiological approach and diagnosis will be explored.

Week 2, SFB2 (E. Herrscher, S. Naji) : The workshop will be oriented toward continuing the exhaustive study of the Saint Laurent osteological collection housed in the Archaeological Museum of Saint Laurent. The osteological collection is composed of 1500 skeletons and distributed over 15 centuries of mortuary occupation. Basics in archaeology and taphonomy of human remains, as well as human osteology will be explored.

Total cost of the workshop is 1600€; including registration fees to the teaching unit of the EPHE diploma (corresponding to 6 European Credit Transfer system), lunches and housing on university campus (high-speed internet provided). The Workshop is open to students of all level. Language of courses is English.
