Developmental Origins of Health and Disease 2015 - 9th World Congress

On behalf of the DOHaD 2015 Organising Committee and the host institutions - MRC/Wits Developmental Pathways for Health Research Unit at the University of the Witwatersrand, and the MRC/UCT Exercise Science and Sports Medicine Research Unit at the University of Cape Town - I invite you to attend the 9th World Congress on Developmental Origins of Health and Disease.

This will be the first World Congress on DOHaD to be hosted in Africa. The Congress will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, between the 8th and 11th of November 2015.

The programme will include the latest ground-breaking research in the DOHaD field, and promises the opportunity to meet and spend time with fellow researchers and friends with a common interest in developmental programming. The theme for the Congress will focus on transgenerational risk of metabolic disease in transitioning societies.

Cape Town, situated at the south-western tip of Africa, embodies a rich diversity of cultures and is full of South African heritage. Table Mountain has recently been announced as one of the new world's 7 Wonders of Nature. We are planning a programme that will not only be scientifically stimulating but one that will also offer opportunities to explore Cape Town and surrounding wine lands and beautiful coastline.

See you in Cape Town in 2015!

Shane Norris Chair of the Organising Committee Director of MRC/Wits Developmental Pathways for Health Research Unit
