Cobb

The AAPA Executive Committee is pleased to announce that the Professional Development Grants will be known as the Cobb Professional Development Grants in honor of W. Montague Cobb, MD, PhD (1904-1990). Cobb was a scientist, social activist, President of the NAACP, 15th President of the AAPA and our first and only African-American AAPA president. These grants are a fitting recognition of his service to the science of Physical Anthropology, to developing careers and to the AAPA generally. The maximum award amount has been raised this year to $7500. The application deadline is January 15.
