The Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applicants for a full-time, one-year position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Forensic Anthropology/Bioarchaeology (renewable for a total of three years), beginning August 16, 2019. Candidates are expected to teach four courses a year, contribute to the research and teaching mission of the department, and advise graduate and undergraduate students. The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in Anthropology. Well-qualified candidates will be considered if completion of PhD degree requirements is imminent. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness through their research, teaching and/or service are encouraged to apply. The preferred candidate will be a biological anthropologist specializing in modern human skeletal biology with expertise in forensic anthropology and human osteology. Additional expertise in bioarchaeology preferred. Candidates with evidence of forensics casework and ability to qualify for the American Board of Forensic Anthropology exam will be given preferential consideration. Area specialty is open.
