The Boise State University Anthropology Department seeks outstanding candidates to fill one position for a Lecturer in Anthropology. We are seeking candidates with research and teaching interests in human biology, primatology, biomedical anthropology, human behavioral ecology, environmental anthropology, quantitative anthropology or any related areas of specialization in applied, biological, or cultural anthropology.
The regional focus of research is open. We encourage candidates to demonstrate how their methodological and analytical skills complement and contribute to the department’s focus on human adaptation, ecology, and evolution. In addition to teaching, duties include advising and mentoring students and participating in shared departmental service obligations at the college and university levels. Boise State University seeks a candidate who is highly motivated in promoting cultural competency and/or diversity in their chosen field of expertise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Teach introductory and upper division Anthropology classes • Advising and mentoring students • Participate in shared departmental service obligations
The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities: • Ability to teach introductory anthropology courses, such as Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, and Evolution and Human Behavior, as well as upper division courses in their area of expertise. • Ability to promote cultural competency and/or diversity in their chosen field of expertise.
Minimum Qualifications • Ph.D. in Anthropology, or a Master's degree with four years of contractual experience • Interest, experience and/or ability to promote cultural competency, diversity and/or inclusive excellence
Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated professional development in teaching • Publication history in anthropology
