The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Nazarbayev University invites applications for a full professor position in Sociology or Anthropology, to begin in August 2018. We are looking for a scholar with substantial experience and expertise in international research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and professional service. Research leadership, mentorship of faculty and students, contribution to curriculum development, participation in faculty governance at the department and school level are expected. Area of specialization is open; however, special consideration will be given to applicants with regional expertise or research interest in Eurasia as well as those who have professional ties with international scholarly communities. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or Sociology, preferably from a leading international university, and a proven track record of successful academic career in reputable universities and evidence of professional engagement and networking.

Responsibilities include a 2/2 teaching load, research, and departmental and School service. The University offers opportunities for research support.
