The Ad-Hoc Committee on the Status of Underrepresented Groups in Physical Anthropology
As may be anecdotally apparent to all of us, our discipline and our association are not particularly diverse. The Ad-Hoc has started to explore this issue through planning meetings held at our annual meeting and and other less formal events. To facilitate communication about these events, and to gain greater input from the community at large, the committee and we would like to invite interested members to participate in a new AAPA affiliated listserve.
Our listserve is administered by Phoebe Stubblefield and can be joined by: sending an email to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU. This email has no subject, and in the body one writes: SUB UND-AAPAUNDER-REP@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU Full Name. If you use an automatic signature, please make sure to delete it before sending commands. Once subscribed, the list will send the new subscriber some basic instructions.
Any AAPA member may join the list. The main objectives of the list are: to facilitate discussion on topics of diversity within physical anthropology, to build connections and mentoring relationships among physical anthropologists from underrepresented groups as well as those members interested in diversity in the field, and to provide a forum for all members of the AAPA interested in such discussions.
